Access higher models with your own API key
Use your provider API keys to unlock additional OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, and Mistral models.
Included models stay available
GPT-5.4 Mini and Claude Haiku 4.5 are included with an active license.
New top tier models
Support for OpenAI GPT-5.5, Claude Opus 4.7 and Opus 4.8, Gemini 3.5 Flash. These models are available via your own API key.
Bug fixes
Better performance of included models (GPT-5.4 Mini, Claude Haiku 4.5). EvalScript error should be fixed now. Autofix working again. General stability improvements.

Script Mode now feels like a real chat.
MATE now replies more naturally in Script Mode instead of only outputting code.

Gemini in Agent Mode (beta!)
In Settings, set Gemini Runtime to “interactions”. It is still in beta, so expect it to break sometimes.

Agent Mode (beta)
MATE can now do multiple actions on it's own and interact with InDesign directly! E.g. Find text frames -> get content -> translate -> replace. Ask MATE to create frames, apply styles, or modify your document.
Of course, you can still create scripts like before, only now it's called "Script Mode". Nothing else changed.
MCP Server (beta)
Connect (remote) MCP servers to supercharge MATE with extended capabilities. Connect to Notion, Linear, and other web services. Browse the web, get documentation, create QR codes. The possibilities are endless!
New code editor
MATE got a better code editor. Now lines are preserved and you can even collapse code blocks to make working with your script code easier.
UX improvements / bug fixes
A ton of small improvements like "batch delete". Many bug fixes.
